The Paramedic is responsible for assessing patients&#39; conditions, administering advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities for further treatment. Paramedics are an integral part of the healthcare system, provide critical care during emergencies and making a significant impact on patient&lsquo;s lives. The role of the Paramedic requires exceptional leadership qualities, advanced training and education, demands quick thinking, compassion, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver timely and effective pre-hospital care.</span></p><h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Role and Responsibilities</span></h1><ul><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Provide excellent patient care within the scope of practice of a Paramedic</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Provide leadership and mentoring to EMT and AEMT crew members</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Respond to emergent and non-emergent transports</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Provides effective communication with patients, dispatch, crews, family members, and facility staff</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability operation communication devices; portable radio, cell phone, computer tablet</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Completion of patient contact reports prior to shift completion</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ensure maintenance of vehicles and equipment for transport readiness</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Maintain cleanliness of station</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Maintain certifications with timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Remain current on all state protocols, policies, and/or procedures</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Represent AmCare at community events as assigned</li></ul><h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Qualifications and Education Requirements</span></h1><ul><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Graduation From High School or equivalent</li><li style=\"margin-top: 4px; margin-bottom: 4px; line-height: 22px; font-size: 16px;\" id=\"isPasted\">19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Successful completion of NR Paramedic certification</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Current NR Paramedic and State Paramedic (or ability to obtain with in 10 days of hire)</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Current AHA BLS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Current AHA ACLS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Current AHA PALS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Knowledge of pumps, vents, and monitors utilized in EMS care</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Knowledge of all state protocols for a Paramedic</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Clear search on the VT AHS Adult Abuse Registry and Child Protection Registry databases</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOC course or ability to obtain in 90 days</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to pass a lift test of 150 &ndash; 200 pounds</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to pass a pre-employment background check</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to speak and write English</li></ul><h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Preferred Skills</span></h1><ul><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Leadership experience</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Excellent customer service skills</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Knowledge of medical terminology and writing patient care reports</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Problem solving</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ability to remain calm under pressure</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Previous EMS experience</li></ul><p><br></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">We&#39;d love for you to join the AmCare team!</span></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
