Description Summary This position is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance activities on electric generating units and balance of plant systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. Maintenance activities include preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, planned and unplanned corrective maintenance on both safety-related and non-safety-related components. Maintenance responsibilities include, but is not limited to, maintaining and/or repairing power plant equipment; planning work and following procedures/prints to install and maintain equipment; performing assembly and disassembly of components using proper rigging and lifting techniques; troubleshooting equipment; communicating with plant supervision, plant operations personnel and/or plant maintenance personnel; and responding to call outs in the event work is required after normal working hours including weekends, nights, and storm duty as necessary to support plant operations. In addition, these positions will maintain plant maintenance records in the Maximo® computer-based work order system and ensure all work complies with environmental permits and regulations. The incumbents are expected to perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for their personal safety and the safety of other employees. This position is located at Plant Scherer in Juliette, Ga.
