    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a Research Associate, Associate Principal with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.</li>\n <li>Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues.</li>\n <li>Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.</li>\n <li>Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.</li>\n <li>Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues.</li>\n <li>Conduct biotechnology research analysis.</li>\n <li>Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.</li>\n <li>Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.</li>\n <li>Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology.</li>\n <li>Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>5 years of experience of engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)</li>\n <li>Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree.</li>\n <li>Must have a current and active TS/SCI Clearance.</li>\n <li>U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.</li>\n <li>Excellent writing, communication and briefing.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
