This position will involve corrective and preventive maintenance and minor alteration work and may oversee temporary labor and/or other trades persons or contractors as required. This position requires general supervision and often works independently.</p><p></p><p>Trades technicians work independently and cooperatively with other Facility Management and University departments along with contract trade personnel to maintain building systems, prevent facility problems when possible and respond to customer requests or emergencies. Occasionally functions as a team leader of a 2-to-5-member project team. This position has no budget responsibilities.</p><p></p><p><b>Essential Functions:</b></p><ul><li><p>Perform preventive, routine corrective maintenance, and emergency repairs on wiring, lighting systems, power distribution panels, electrical motors and various equipment such as motor control centers and variable frequency drives to assure that systems are safe and operating as designed.</p></li><li><p>Work with, escort, and provide oversight and guidance to electrical and low voltage contractors ensuring National Electrical Code compliance standards are met.</p></li><li><p>Perform technical review of project drawings and provide feedback and recommendations.
