That means expanding our capabilities, investing in our people, and building teams that are positioned for long-term success.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Opportunity:</u></strong></p><p>We are currently seeking a self-driven <strong>Senior Roadway Engineer | Project Manager</strong> to join our Ohio Transportation team in Columbus or Akron.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This is a leadership role within our Transportation Division, responsible for managing roadway and highway design projects across Ohio while strengthening PRIME AE&rsquo;s presence with ODOT, cities, and county agencies. You will lead project delivery, support pursuit efforts, mentor engineering staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to public-sector clients.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>If you are motivated by meaningful infrastructure work, technical excellence, and the opportunity to shape Ohio&rsquo;s transportation network, this role offers both impact and growth.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>What You&rsquo;ll Do:</u></strong></p><p>You will oversee the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects, including urban and rural highways, interchanges, intersections, ADA improvements, and corridor enhancements. You will manage project performance from proposal through final design and construction support, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective solutions. &nbsp;You will also collaborate with PRIME AE&rsquo;s Transportation teams across multiple states to support integrated, multidisciplinary project delivery.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Project Leadership &amp; Delivery</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Serve as Project Manager for ODOT, municipal, and county roadway projects.</li><li>Develop scopes of work, fee proposals, schedules, and staffing plans.</li><li>Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting and profitability.</li><li>Oversee and track project schedules and deliverables.</li><li>Ensure compliance with ODOT standards, AASHTO guidelines, and agency requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Technical Oversight</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Lead highway design and roadway computations for urban and rural projects.</li><li>Provide quality control and oversight of plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&amp;E).</li><li>Guide roadway modeling efforts using Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, or related software.</li><li>Support interchange design, geometric layout, MOT, transportation planning, and ADA compliance efforts.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Client &amp; Team Development</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Support pursuit efforts and assist in winning ODOT, city, and county transportation projects.</li><li>Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and professional representation.</li><li>Mentor and develop junior and entry-level engineers.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to ensure successful delivery.</li><li>Prepare technical reports and contribute to proposal development.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>What You&rsquo;ll Bring:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.</li><li>Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.</li><li>10+ years of progressive experience in highway design and project management.</li><li>Experience delivering preliminary and final design for ODOT projects preferred.</li><li>Proficiency with Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, and roadway modeling tools.</li><li>Working knowledge of MS Office; experience with MS Project is a plus.</li><li>Strong familiarity with AASHTO policies and guidelines.</li><li>Proven ability to manage challenging projects and multiple assignments simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Why PRIME AE:</u></strong></p><p>We don&rsquo;t just fill positions; we invest in people.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At PRIME AE, you&rsquo;ll find a supportive, flexible environment where careers are built intentionally, not accidentally.
