    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The International University of Science &amp; Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new Campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in three Colleges; namely: College of Engineering, College of Business Administration, and College of Arts. </span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">In addition to the academic programs, IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">IUK is looking for dynamic full-time academic members who are passionate about teaching and contributing to the development of a vibrant and successful learning environment for students.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>The College of Business Administration at IUK seeks candidates for <span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Assistant/Associate Professor</span><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-size: 12pt\"> and </span><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Instructor</span> positions to teach the courses in<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> the area of specialization and related fields. </span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>In addition to teaching, successful candidates are expected to maintain significant scholarly work and professional services.</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The primary role of the faculty members is to promote high-quality teaching, research and creative work, and university services. In addition, the faculty will collaborate with the Head of Department, Dean, and colleagues to achieve the Department's and College’s mission and vision, in line with the IUK’s vision, and support the department with academic and administrative services.<br></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Furthermore, faculty members are expected to maintain office hours, provide advice for students, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to the university’s professional development activities</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Teach different courses according to his/her specialty and experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Promote innovation in teaching by introducing new teaching methodologies and strategies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Engage with students in and out of the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Promote research activities and other creative work at IUK including publishing in indexed peer-reviewed publications.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Mentor new colleagues and teaching assistants</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Support the mission of the Department and College at IUK by following the set curriculum and working towards achieving the program objectives and student learning outcomes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Follow the university bylaws and regulations and promote the institutional environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Commit to teaching schedules, office hours, preparation, service, and professional development.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Provide academic support to other colleagues in the department.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Participate in the College's and the University's events and supporting collegiality.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Support the College and the University in organizing seminars, international conferences, and faculty events.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">­ Serve in the College's and university's committees as needed</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ph.D.</span> in a related field for Assistant/Associate Professor positions</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Master's </span>degree <span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">in a related field</span> for Instructor positions</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Professional certifications are an asset.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A minimum of three years of university teaching experience for Assistant professor and five years for associate professor at a university level.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A proven research record, scholarly work, publications, and knowledge transfer. A minimum of three journal articles in peer-review indexed journals (ISI or Scopus) for Assistant Professor and five years for Associate Professor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A proven experience in using different learning management systems and in adopting e-learning teaching strategies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">An experience that proves an understanding of a multicultural academic environment, and understanding of students' needs, including those of special needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">An experience with various instructional methodologies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Technical Skills:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Computer, LMS, and e-learning skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Experience in course design based on outcome-based education (OBE) model is an asset.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Behavioral Skills:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Effective communication skills in English</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Team and time management skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A passion for teaching.</span></li>\n</ul>",
