    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>THIS POSITION IS LOCATED ON-SITE IN SOUTH BEND, IN. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Eligibility Specialist is responsible for processing applications and completing case maintenance activities such as changes to cases in the State eligibility system and ensuring that client service issues are resolved in a timely manner and in accordance with FSSA policies and procedures. Additionally, the Eligibility Specialist is responsible for handling inbound calls from Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF applicants, recipients, and other members of the community.   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge Services,</strong> established in 1994 and headquartered in Indianapolis IN, is a certified woman-owned (WBE) professional services organization with over 1500 employees located in offices throughout North America. We provide outstanding services to major organizations in various industries, including: IT, Healthcare, Entertainment, Media, Federal and State Governments, Public Utilities, Telecom, Manufacturing and more. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Applies eligibility rules and regulations when evaluating information submitted by customers in support of initial or continuing eligibility determination. </li>\n <li>Checks various system interfaces and exchanges to verify Customer information.  </li>\n <li>Assist in answering all in-coming phone calls from customers.  </li>\n <li>Attend meetings and trainings as requested and maintains up-to-date knowledge of all programs and systems. </li>\n <li>Contacts customers to clarify eligibility information if necessary. </li>\n <li>Displays excellent communication skills, and an understanding of human behavior to establish an atmosphere in which all contacts are positive.  </li>\n <li>May educate customers on basic program services and eligibility requirements. </li>\n <li>Meet Quality Assurance (QA) and other key performance metrics.  </li>\n <li>Maintains updated knowledge of project and corporate policies and procedures. </li>\n <li>Verifying data, reviewing case information, and preparing it for case disposition by the State Eligibility Consultant. </li>\n <li>Reprocesses applications, including case repair, and missing information responses in an accurate and timely manner. </li>\n <li>Ability to identify risk by escalating to management and routing technical issues to the appropriate staff. </li>\n <li>Meets all performance requirements associated with eligibility processes. </li>\n <li>Performs other duties as may be assigned by management. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification required. Some college preferred. </li>\n <li>Experience with social services preferred; Indiana Eligibility experience strongly preferred. </li>\n <li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. </li>\n <li>Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues. </li>\n <li>Understands implications or work and makes recommendations for solutions. </li>\n <li>Accurate data entry skills and the ability to type at least 40 keystrokes/minute. </li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to build positive relationships among customer and state eligibility consultants. </li>\n <li>Attention to detail; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. </li>\n <li>Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously </li>\n <li>Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. </li>\n <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. </li>\n <li>Work is constantly performed in an office environment. You will be provided an extensive training program to give you the skills to be successful in this role. The position starts at $18/hr.
