Job Title: Expeditor
Location: 3001 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
Schedule: Variable / Part-Time (must include weekends and holidays)
Work Environment: Oceanfront hotel restaurant located directly on the boardwalk
Position Summary
The Expeditor is responsible for managing the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment. This role ensures orders are accurate, properly timed, and meet quality and presentation standards while serving as the key communication link between Front of House and Back of House teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and thrives in a fast-moving service environment.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate and prioritize outgoing food orders to ensure timely service
Verify food accuracy, modifiers, temperature, portioning, and presentation
Serve as the primary communication bridge between kitchen staff and servers
Monitor ticket times and proactively address delays or issues
Ensure special requests and dietary modifications are executed correctly
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expeditor/pass area
Support food runners and assist with takeout or packaged orders as needed
Communicate clearly with front-of-house staff to support table pacing and guest experience
Customer Service
Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service
Respond promptly to guest needs and questions related to food service
Handle guest concerns calmly and courteously in collaboration with leadership
Safety & Sanitation
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
Prevent cross-contamination and handle food safely
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
