Our corporate headquarters in Bethesda, MD. was designed to embrace new, modern ways of working in an office – with a variety of indoor and outdoor workspaces made for both privacy or collaboration and easy access to public transportation and all that Bethesda’s vibrant downtown has to offer. </p>\n<h2><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong></p></h2>\n<p>This full-time position will be within JBG SMITH's Accounting department and will report to an Accounting department and will report to an Accounting Manager.</p>\n<h2><p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></p></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as a mini-controller for a portfolio of assets.  Perform all related accounting functions associated with these projects, including account reconciliations and financial statements</li>\n <li>Explain monthly budget vs. actual and period-over-period actual vs. actual variances. This includes balance sheet and income statement analytics that are presented to our executive team, our auditors, and used as support for our financial filings</li>\n <li>Produce monthly, quarterly, or annual reporting for internal purposes, JV partners, investors and lenders</li>\n <li>Prepare monthly cash distributions and related reporting for investors and partners</li>\n <li>Close-knit interaction with on-site property and asset management teams throughout the monthly close process, including hosting pre-close calls</li>\n <li>Work with third party auditors on year-end tax and audit requests</li>\n <li>Support / collaborate with other departments on asset acquisitions, dispositions, monthly draws, and cash management needs, among other items</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)</strong></p></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting required</li>\n <li>3 - 5 years of related accounting experience; Public accounting experience preferred</li>\n <li>Must be qualified to sit for the CPA exam</li>\n <li>Team player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing</li>\n <li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong computer skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. Additionally, this position offers a generous annual target bonus. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
