Description

Job Title: HR Generalist Department: Human Resources Reports To: Director of Human Resources Location: Corporate (Indianapolis) with travel to Marion office (approximately 1 day per month) Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000 annually Position Summary Phoenix Data Corporation is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations across the organization. This role will focus on recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee support, HR administration, and payroll backup. The HR Generalist will partner closely with the HR Director to help scale HR processes as the company continues to grow. This position is primarily based at the Shadeland office and will require periodic travel (approximately one day per month) to the Marion location to maintain HR visibility and employee support. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Onboarding Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities including posting jobs, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews Partner with hiring managers to support hiring needs and timelines Prepare offer letters and new hire documentation Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation Ensure completion of background checks, I-9s, and pre-employment requirements Maintain applicant tracking system and candidate communication HR Administration Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR-related questions Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records Track required acknowledgements, policies, and compliance documentation Assist with benefits administration and employee enrollments Support performance review administration and tracking Assist with employee communications and HR initiatives Payroll Support (Bi-Weekly Payroll) Provide backup support for bi-weekly payroll processing Review timesheets and assist with timekeeping questions Track PTO balances and employee changes impacting payroll Assist with payroll audits and reporting as needed Employee Support Support employee relations intake and documentation Assist managers with HR processes and forms Help coordinate training and policy rollouts Participate in HR projects and process improvements Travel Requirement Travel to the Marion office approximately one day per month Provide on-site HR visibility and employee support Assist with onboarding, employee questions, and manager support during visits Qualifications 2–5 years of HR experience preferred Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding Knowledge of HRIS systems (ADP preferred) Payroll exposure or willingness to learn payroll processing Strong organizational and follow-through skills Ability to handle confidential information professionally Excellent communication and employee support skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Experience in a growing or multi-location organization Experience supporting hourly and salaried employees Exposure to employee relations and compliance processes HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) a plus but not required Position Type Full-time, exempt Phoenix Data Corporation is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds to apply .
