Come join our team and be a part of an exciting and rewarding organization!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p>Support flight and development projects as the focal engineer for Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical parts specification, selection, part utilization, and obsolescence management through the use of NASA and industry standard databases for all part types listed in MSFC-STD-3012.  Duties will include, but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical, electronic and electromechanical part selection for NASA programs.</li>\n<li>Continuous parts obsolescence analysis, monitoring and notification of project impacts of EEE parts using Silicon Expert, Total Parts Plus, and EPARTS (Electronics Parts Application, Reporting, and Tracking System) databases.</li>\n<li>Maintenance of the obsolescence module of the EPARTS database.</li>\n<li>Participate in the biweekly EPARTS meetings.</li>\n<li>Participate in the monthly EEE Parts Community of Practice meetings. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintenance of EEE Parts requirements and specifications.</li>\n<li>Support development of electrical, electronic and electromechanical part plans, lists, reviews, testing, and analyses.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education</span>: The following education and experience levels are required:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>BS degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years applicable experience or,</li>\n<li>MS degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 8 years applicable experience or,</li>\n<li>PhD degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years applicable experience.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Must be a US citizen and have a STAR ID</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills</span>: The following skills are desired, as indicated:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience is required in EEE parts engineering, including parts obsolescence management, part utilization, database maintenance and usage is desired.</li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in using obsolescence analysis tools (software) to provide proactive obsolescence management is desired.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of electronic components is desired.</li>\n<li>Experience in part specification and selection for all part types listed in MSFC-STD-3012 is desired.</li>\n<li>Oral and technical writing skills are necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Environment: </span></p>\n<p>Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Requires travel in the domestic USA (5%).  Requires ability to work at a computer for long periods of time (100%).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<p>Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues (10%). Also, requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks (80%). Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and our facilities (10%).  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equipment and Machines: </span></p>\n<p>Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment (100%).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Attendance:</span> </p>\n<p>Normal workday 7:30-4:30, Monday thru Friday.  Minimal overtime may be required (10%) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job. Regular attendance is a necessity, and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Essential Functions:</span></p>\n<p>The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100%). Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Selected candidate must be a US citizen.
