Description

The Village of Lemont, home to approximately 17,500 residents, is seeking dependable, motivated, and community-minded individuals to join the Lemont Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) in a PAID Part-Time On-Call Position. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world emergency management experience while working alongside public safety professionals and supporting the community during some of Lemont’s most exciting events and emergency operations. LEMA supports Village public safety by providing both emergency and non-emergency assistance and offers mutual aid to surrounding communities. Whether you are a college student interested in emergency management, public safety, homeland security, healthcare, or related fields — or someone with a full-time career who wants to serve the community, build new skills, and gain hands-on experience — this position offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity to get involved. As a Part-Time LEMA Member, you will play an active role supporting community events such as parades, festivals, street fairs, and other special events throughout the year. Depending on operational needs, members may also assist with first aid, shelter operations, emergency planning, disaster response support, traffic and crowd assistance, and other emergency management activities. This position is ideal for individuals looking for flexible involvement, valuable hands-on experience, professional development, and the chance to be part of a dedicated team that helps protect and serve the community. Members can continue serving with LEMA as long as they remain active and engaged. Please note this is a non-sworn position with no law enforcement authority.
