To support our Analytics Projects Europe team, we are looking for a committed Data & Software Engineer (f/m/x). This is a full-time position based in Berlin/Potsdam. Your future role Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to integrate digital health records from diverse sources into a standardized data model. Continuously expand your knowledge of the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model, a globally adopted standard for observational health data. Analyze and interpret electronic health data (e.g., electronic health records, medical imaging, wearables, clinical trials). Understand and enhance existing data models to incorporate new data modalities. Collaborate with technical and clinical teams to improve the quality of existing data integration pipelines. Support clinical teams in designing and building cohorts based on standardized data models. Contribute to the ongoing standardization of data models. Work closely with our research partners at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, and our development team in Singapore. What you need to succeed 3+ years of professional experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines. University degree in computer science or a related field. Strong background in data handling, integration, and analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with data management and interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, OMOP, SNOMED, ICD-10). Strong programming skills in Python. In-depth database expertise (SQL), with a focus on PostgreSQL; experience with in-memory DBMS (e.g., SAP HANA) is a plus. Solid hands-on experience with ETL frameworks (e.g., Prefect, Airflow). Ideally, some experience in the design of clinical trials or network studies. Experience with TypeScript is a plus. Knowledge of deployment practices (CI/CD, Kubernetes) on cloud computing infrastructures (e.g., Azure) is a plus. Experience with wearable and time-series data standards is a plus. Strong communication skills in English — verbal, written, and presentation. Curious: You are ambitious and committed, always striving to find the best possible solution to a problem. Team-oriented: You enjoy collaborating with others and are motivated to achieve goals together as a team rather than working in isolation.
