    "requisitionDescription": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"color: black;background-color: white;font-size: 24pt;\">State &amp; Local Tax (SALT) Director</span>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The MFA Companies® (MFA) is seeking to add a Tax Director to its growing State &amp; Local Tax (SALT) team. This individual will provide customers with premier customer service while delivering tax compliance and advisory services and implementing tax strategies that align with customers’ overall business goals. <span style=\"color: black;\">Additional responsibilities include day-to-day management of the department and its professionals.</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">This is an essential role in MFA’s rapidly growing SALT Practice where the Firm utilizes the most advanced technology in order to focus on value-add customer-based activities.</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;background-color: white;\"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Manage and monitor multiple customer engagements by providing timely, high quality service that meets or exceeds expectations</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Provide tax compliance services through primary and secondary review of complex corporate income tax returns, including C-Corps, S-Corps and Partnerships</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Conduct state &amp; local tax planning and consulting with corporations and pass-through entities</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Provide tax consulting and develop innovative strategies for a dynamic customer base</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Provide advisory services to customers regarding federal and state tax audits and notices</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Conduct tax research for various customer scenarios</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Responsible for budget management and resolution of billing or fee issues</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Maintain an open line of communication with the engagement team, engagement partner and customers</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Actively participate in Firm administration as appropriate (i.e. focus groups, dept initiatives, scheduling)</span>&nbsp;</li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Contribute to the ongoing development/enhancement of tax department policies and procedures</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Actively mentor multiple members</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Participate in external and internal presentations and training</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Facilitate professional development to enhance technical skills of department members</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Collaborate with members to develop a team environment</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Work closely with partners on proposals and business development activities</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Maintain active communication with customers to manage expectations and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Responsible for direct customer nurturing activities</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Identify service opportunities with existing customers and actively work with the engagement partner through the sales process</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;background-color: white;\"><strong>Desired Skills and Qualifications</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">At least seven (7) years of continuous experience in federal and state tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting</span>&nbsp;</li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from with a Master’s Degree in Business or Taxation</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Licensed CPA or Juris Doctor (JD) in the state of Massachusetts</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Superior verbal and written communication skills</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Strong customer service skills with ability to develop and maintain customer relationships</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Superior organizational and project management to ensure the success of multiple engagements with multiple teams</span>&nbsp;</li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Ability to effectively delegate work as needed</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Experience and comfort developing new business or expanding existing customer business</span></li>\n<li dir = \"auto\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Ability to listen and respond effectively with good
