    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>The Security Guard, working independently or as part of a team, is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, and others at his/her assigned site. This position may include activity at an assigned location. This position is supervised by the Site Lead. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $21.00-$25.00</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Necessary Skills and Knowledge:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent customer service skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to work with Clients and the public using tact and courtesy. </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing. </li>\n <li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions, including company policies and procedures. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client perform duties in a professional manner and appearance. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client observe and record events accurately. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client use common sense and good judgment when making decisions within scope of authority. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client to learn and apply specialized security/protection techniques, methods and procedures. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client analyze problems and situations and take prompt effective action. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client enforce regulations and rules effectively. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client recognize an emergency or immediate threat and take appropriate action in a mature, controlled manner, applying existing policies and guidelines. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client to perform the physical demands of the job. </li>\n <li>Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others. </li>\n <li>As directed by Supervisor and /or Client work directly with the public, conveying information and assistance effectively on a daily basis. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). </li>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li>\n <li>Six (6) months of experience dealing with the public. </li>\n <li>Ability to obtain a Security Guard license issued by the State of Alaska. </li>\n <li>Must pass a background check. </li>\n <li>Must obtain basic first aid and CPR certification within three (3) months of hire. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Six (6) months of experience in a work environment requiring safety and security precautions; i.e. previous military, law enforcement or security experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs routine patrol of assigned site to deter, detect, and report security or safety problems, preserve order, and protect property. Patrols may be performed on foot. </li>\n <li>Performs patrol duties according to Goldbelt Security’s policies and procedures and the Client’s specific instructions. </li>\n <li>Corrects unsafe conditions which may pose risk of injury or death to people at the site. </li>\n <li>Completes forms and reports which may include Incident Reports, Citizen Arrest Forms, and Criminal Trespass Forms. </li>\n <li>Notifies local Emergency response agency in the event of an emergency. Maintains order at the site until their arrival and renders basic first aid or CPR as needed. </li>\n <li>Protects the interests and property of Goldbelt Security and the Client. </li>\n <li>Approaches unauthorized persons on site to determine their intentions. Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and follows Goldbelt Security Policies and Procedures. </li>\n <li>Calls police or fire department in cases of emergency. Maintains order at the location until their arrival and renders basic first aid or CPR as needed. </li>\n <li>Provides assistance to visitors. </li>\n <li>Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>",
