KYCOM STUDENT EVENTS ASSISTANT
Division: KYCOM Department: Student Affairs Experience: Entry-level
Job Code: NA Supervisor/Reports To: Amanda Adkins
Start Date: 7/ 24/2026
Support KYCOM’s Office of Student Affairs by assisting with major and minor student events throughout the academic year. Tasks will vary depending on departmental needs and event requirements.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
Act in a professional manner that positively represents KYCOM – P, CSD
Complete assigned tasks as directed quickly and efficiently – P, TW
Collaborate with others to ensure event success – C, T, L
Effectively communicate with peers, faculty, staff, and guests – C
Competencies/Skills: Communication (C), Teamwork (TW), Professionalism (P), Career & Self-Development (CSD), Critical Thinking (CT), Community Transformation (CTR), Leadership (L), Technology (T)
Education Requirements: Must be a current UPIKE student in good standing.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and new technology.
Work Schedule: 25 hours per semester, flexible based on event schedule.
Work Conditions: Campus and event locations, may involve lifting and active movement.
Physical Demands: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, balancing.
Number of Positions: 12
Pay Rate: $12.5/hour
Location: Coal Building and campus
