This position is <strong>located in the Tri-Cities of Washington</strong>&nbsp;and will be working in the surrounding areas. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, eligible for overtime and paid bi-weekly.</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:&nbsp;</strong>The Lightspeed Networks Crew Lead installs and repairs fiber optic telecommunications systems and equipment. The Crew Lead work under the supervision of the Superintendent and installs and maintains Lightspeed Networks&rsquo; physical network, including plant ancillary equipment, fiber, copper and power cable, and low power voltage systems.&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, assemble and erect all components necessary for lifting, moving and installing plant materials in accordance with the applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Build aerial plant to customer specifications to include: &nbsp;framing poles, placing new strand, lashing new cable to bare strand, over lashing cable to existing strand and cable. &nbsp;Installing anchors and down guys, snow shoes, placing FST fiber terminals, grounding &amp; bonding of strand, placement of riser guards, trimming trees, pulling of cable/fiber short distances in conduit, installing pole mounted cabinets, placing ground rods and installing VGR&rsquo;s on poles, swapping lashers on poles either from a bucket truck or from hooks/ladders.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Dismantles, moves, and removes aerial, underground or building wire, cable associated equipment and hardware. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, building, or poles.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre-job safety planning in the appropriate format. &nbsp;Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or mitigate hazards. &nbsp;Assure all crew members understand, participate, and sign all pre-job safety planning tools at start and end of shift.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Reports all accidents, hazards and near misses to Superintendent or Foreman. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Repairs and maintains major cable/fiber system and structures such as broken lashing, replacing or re-sagging aerial strand, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial to underground conversion, make ready, VGR&rsquo;s and all grounding and bonding functions as per NESC, &amp; NEC code. &nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Deploying and removing various traffic control devices that protect the work area while on a street or roadway.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Supervise ground hands to ensure safety and productivity&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Complete weekly time sheets and production reports.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Complete reports related to project status, progress, or other work details, using computer software. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Participate, adhere to and support all safety related policies, processes and programs. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e., back-up alarms, smell of smoke or fumes, different colored warning tag, warning sirens.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Inspect crew members&rsquo; work for compliance with the contract plans, specifications, and industry standards. &nbsp;Point out deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action needed.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. &nbsp;Take corrective actions as needed reporting any issues to your supervision.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Operates power equipment such as compressors, pumps, blowers, hydraulic diggers, and hydraulic aerial bucket trucks&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Perform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing principal duties and accountabilities. The Crew Lead work under the supervision of the Superintendent and installs and maintains Lightspeed Networks&rsquo; physical network, including plant ancillary equipment, fiber, copper and power cable, and low power voltage systems.&nbsp;\\n\\n&nbsp;\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n\\n\\tUse appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, assemble and erect all components necessary for lifting, moving and installing plant materials in accordance with the applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.&nbsp;\\n\\tBuild aerial plant to customer specifications to include: &nbsp;framing poles, placing new strand, lashing new cable to bare strand, over lashing cable to existing strand and cable. &nbsp;Installing anchors and down guys, snow shoes, placing FST fiber terminals, grounding &amp; bonding of strand, placement of riser guards, trimming trees, pulling of cable/fiber short distances in conduit, installing pole mounted cabinets, placing ground rods and installing VGR&rsquo;s on poles, swapping lashers on poles either from a bucket truck or from hooks/ladders.&nbsp;\\n\\tDismantles, moves, and removes aerial, underground or building wire, cable associated equipment and hardware. &nbsp;&nbsp;\\n\\tConnects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, building, or poles.&nbsp;\\n\\tLead, complete, and sign off on daily pre-job safety planning in the appropriate format. &nbsp;Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or mitigate hazards. &nbsp;Assure all crew members understand, participate, and sign all pre-job safety planning tools at start and end of shift.&nbsp;\\n\\tReports all accidents, hazards and near misses to Superintendent or Foreman. &nbsp;&nbsp;\\n\\tRepairs and maintains major cable/fiber system and structures such as broken lashing, replacing or re-sagging aerial strand, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial to underground conversion, make ready, VGR&rsquo;s and all grounding and bonding functions as per NESC, &amp; NEC code. &nbsp;\\n\\tDeploying and removing various traffic control devices that protect the work area while on a street or roadway.&nbsp;\\n\\tSupervise ground hands to ensure safety and productivity&nbsp;\\n\\tComplete weekly time sheets and production reports.&nbsp;\\n\\tComplete reports related to project status, progress, or other work details, using computer software. &nbsp;&nbsp;\\n\\tParticipate, adhere to and support all safety related policies, processes and programs. &nbsp;&nbsp;\\n\\tUnderstand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e., back-up alarms, smell of smoke or fumes, different colored warning tag, warning sirens.&nbsp;\\n\\tInspect crew members&rsquo; work for compliance with the contract plans, specifications, and industry standards. &nbsp;Point out deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action needed.&nbsp;\\n\\tExamine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. &nbsp;Take corrective actions as needed reporting any issues to your supervision.&nbsp;\\n\\tOperates power equipment such as compressors, pumps, blowers, hydraulic diggers, and hydraulic aerial bucket trucks&nbsp;\\n\\tPerform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing principal duties and accountabilities.
