This Coach will work with the Head Football Coach, faculty, and staff to support players' academic and moral success.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n</div>\n<div>\n Duties and Responsibilities\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Follows the lead of the Head Football Coach.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Promotes the sport within the school by recruiting athletes who are not from other sports programs.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Promotes the sport outside the school.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Assists with the implementation of the athletic policies by the entire staff of the sports program.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media, Booster Club, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers to all requests or grievances through proper channels.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances, and works to increase morale and cooperation.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Gives constant attention to a student athlete’s grades and conduct.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Attends all practices and games.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Provides assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Completes and submits proper paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries to the county athletic office within 24 hours, if directed by the Head Coach.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Directs student managers, assistants, trainers, and statisticians.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Assists the Head Coach in scheduling, providing transportation, and requirements for the tournament and special sports events.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Coordinates program with maintenance and school employees, if directed by the Head Coach.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Accountable for all equipment and/or collection of fees for any lost or unreturned equipment.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on the general cleanliness of the facility.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of specific sports equipment.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Secures all doors, lights, windows, and locks before leaving the building if custodians are not on duty.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Instills in each player respect for equipment and school property, its care, and proper use.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Performs such other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or administration.\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n</div>\n<div>\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Thorough knowledge of all the Athletic Policies approved by the Gaston County Schools’ Board of Education.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Knowledge of existing system, state, and conference regulations; implements them consistently and interprets them for staff.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Ability and willingness to organize and assist with the supervision of the football program.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Must have superior knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Thorough understanding of the growth and development of students/athletes at the assigned school.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n</div>\n<div>\n Physical Requirements\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force constantly to lift objects.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Must possess the visual acuity to operate required equipment and motor vehicles, use measuring devices, and inspect work for accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to work standards and instructions.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span> Must also possess the visual acuity to prepare data and statistics, work with figures, and records processes, operate a computer, and do extensive research and reading.\n</div>\n<div>\n Training and Experience\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Graduation from high school or equivalent, preferred.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Previous successful coaching experience in football.\n</div>\n<div>\n •<span> </span>Coaching experience in a public school system, is preferred.\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n</div>\n<div>\n This Position Reports Directly to:&nbsp;
