Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The <strong>Staff Civil Engineer - Construction</strong> is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p>The base wage or salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. In addition to competitive compensation packages, Intertek employees are eligible for a variety of benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, medical plan options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, and more.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Provide support in geotechnical field investigations, including logging of soils borings, performing percolation testing, and conducting soils strength testing</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Perform engineering analysis under the guidance of a professional engineer</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Review project plans and specifications prepared by others</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Perform testing and inspection tasks in the field and laboratory regularly</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Operate testing equipment, conduct testing, and provide assessment of data through reporting</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>May manage projects, train and oversee technicians, and review field and lab data</span></li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Bachelor of&nbsp;Science Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited engineering / ABET School&nbsp;required</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Knowledge in civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal &amp; written communication</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Ability to periodically work off shifts and overtime</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span><strong>Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required</strong></span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently.
