This position ensures systems are reliable, scalable, code‑compliant, and aligned with owner standards and availability objectives. The role requires close coordination with multidisciplinary design teams and construction stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential duties and responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design telecommunications and low‑voltage infrastructure supporting data center environments, including single‑path distribution with redundant critical components.</li>\n <li>Prepare complete design and construction documentation, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Telecommunications floor plans</li>\n   <li>Equipment room layouts and facility rack elevations</li>\n   <li>Pathway layouts (conduit and cable tray)</li>\n   <li>Equipment and cable schedules</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Develop structured cabling designs utilizing fiber optic and copper cabling systems (including high‑density and MPO solutions where applicable).</li>\n <li>Plan and document data center functional spaces, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Main Distribution Areas (MDA)</li>\n   <li>Horizontal Distribution Areas (HDA)</li>\n   <li>Equipment Distribution Areas (EDA)</li>\n   <li>Telecommunications Rooms (TRs)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate telecommunications systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and IT stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and guidelines, including TIA, BICSI, NEC, and local AHJ requirements.</li>\n <li>Support Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), bidding, and construction administration phases.</li>\n <li>Respond to RFIs and review contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.</li>\n <li>Participate in closeout documentation.</li>\n <li>Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with internal QA/QC standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Systems and Technologies:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Structured cabling systems (fiber optic and copper)</li>\n <li>Data center cable management and pathway infrastructure</li>\n <li>Grounding and bonding for telecommunications systems</li>\n <li>Technology racks, cabinets, and enclosures</li>\n <li>Carrier entrance facilities and demarcation points</li>\n <li>Support infrastructure for LAN, WAN, ISP, NOCs and enterprise IT networks</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical and Work Environment Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office‑based design environment with periodic site visits.</li>\n <li>Ability to review construction areas, including equipment rooms and pathways.</li>\n <li>Occasional travel may be required to project sites.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET Accredited), Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.</li>\n <li>Minimum fifteen (15) years experience with SSOE as a Designer or nineteen (19) years experience with former employer(s).
