Job Title : Director of Counseling
Department : Counseling
Reports to : Executive Director
Location: Park-City
Pay Range: Salary is commensurate with experience.
Compensation and Benefits Three weeks of paid time off for the first three years (accrued quarterly). 100% employer-paid medical insurance premiums for employee-only coverage, and 40% employer-paid premiums for all coverage tiers with partners and dependents. Annual employer Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution of $1,800, paid quarterly. Access to group dental and vision plans. Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Paid holidays as outlined in the company policy (14 in 2026). 403(b) retirement plan with a 100% employer match up to 2% of gross salary. Primary Responsibility The Director of Counseling is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Christian Center of Park City’s (CCPC) Counseling and Wellness Center through strategic planning, staff management, and visionary oversight.
Job Responsibilities
Staff Management
Supervise CCPC clinicians and the counseling administration team and administratively manage contracted therapists. Oversee CCPC Counseling and Wellness Center programs in the CCPC Counseling Center and throughout Summit and Wasatch counties. Oversee clinicians working toward licensure and interns through weekly supervision meetings and on-call support. Partner with the Director of Human Resources on payroll administration, compliance, legal matters, employee relations, and internal staff issues related to the Counseling Center. Provide yearly reviews and salary recommendations for all Counseling Center employees in conjunction with counseling administration team input. Plan and lead monthly staff meetings. Lead two collaboration meetings monthly; one with the APRN team and another focused on trauma. Plan the annual CCPC counseling team-building retreat. Provide vision for personal growth and development training for all counseling staff. Oversee the APRN staff and program. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources for payroll, training, and personnel matters. Oversee the day-to-day functions of the counseling administration team. Provide 14–19 hours of counseling services per week (if licensed). Provide clinical supervision for clinicians working toward licensure and interns (if licensed). Leadership Create and communicate the Counseling Center vision to the counseling team, CCPC staff, and the broader community. Attend and contribute ideas during weekly Director meetings and share relevant information with the Counseling department. Attend and contribute ideas to Strategic Leadership meetings monthly and share relevant information with the Counseling department. Attend and participate in bi-annual CCPC Board meetings. Present the Counseling Center vision at the annual Counseling Center fundraiser. Assist the Chief Financial Officer and counseling administration team in creating the annual Counseling Center budget. Provide leadership, teaching, ideas, and support for psychoeducational seminars such as relationship enrichment trainings, parenting classes, and support groups. Maintain and cultivate donor relationships while working alongside the CCPC Executive team through the annual fundraiser, donor events, and individual engagement. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources and the Chief Financial Officer to develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the Counseling Center in alignment with CCPC organizational standards and applicable regulations. Clinical Counseling Provide high-quality, holistic, and clinically appropriate mental health counseling to clients, with specialization in trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues. Demonstrate ability to integrate a Christian worldview into counseling practices, leadership, and client care in alignment with CCPC’s mission and values. Participate in ongoing educational trainings to maintain licensure, learn new modalities, and expand counseling expertise. Expectations Represent the values of CCPC in all interactions with clients, team members, nonprofit partners, and the public. Work within a culture of collaboration, excellence, leadership, and respect. Foster a positive attitude toward change and embrace change with professionalism and flexibility. Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity and the unique challenges faced by vulnerable populations while advocating for those served. Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively within a team. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA confidentiality requirements. Willingness to complete background checks and sign required codes of conduct. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Qualifications Three years of experience working in a mental health clinic or nonprofit counseling center. Three years of experience leading dynamic organizations to accomplish strategic goals. Licensed or in the process of obtaining licensure by the State of Utah to provide counseling services (preferred). Master’s Degree in counseling, social work or related field (preferred). Experience in clinical supervision (preferred). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and software for therapy administration. Comfortable incorporating a Christian worldview into leadership, therapy, and therapeutic principles. Experience and training with trauma, addictions, teens and children (preferred). Therapists who are insurance paneled are preferred, but support can be provided in the paneling process if needed.
