    "description": "<p>The University of Pikeville seeks part-time faculty who are dedicated to excellence in teaching and student learning. This application is for a position at the Tanner College of Dental Medicine as a part-time Pre-Clinical and/or Clinical Instructor.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teach and demonstrate dental procedures, techniques, and clinical protocols to pre-clinical and/or clinical students, ensuring adherence to current standards of care.</li>\n<li>Provide supervision and guidance in laboratory and clinical settings, assessing student performance and providing timely, constructive feedback.</li>\n<li>Assist in implementing course objectives, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies in alignment with the College’s curriculum.</li>\n<li>Ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care in clinical settings while mentoring students in patient management and professional conduct.</li>\n<li>Participate in calibration activities to maintain consistency in teaching and clinical evaluation and to uphold Commission on Dental Accreditation standards.</li>\n<li>Maintain current knowledge of dental science, clinical techniques, and educational best practices, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning experiences.</li>\n<li>Communicate regularly with the Course Director and/or the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, inclusive culture of camaraderie, mutual respect, and teamwork that supports TCDM goals.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a DMD or DDS degree or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to provide clinical instruction.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Faculty Expectations: </span></span></p>\n<p>Note that the University of Pikeville recognizes that effective educators are themselves life-long learners. Part-time faculty members are encouraged to attend our professional development workshops whenever possible to improve use of educational technology, determine ways to better engage students, and reflect on methods to create the most effective environment for student growth.</p>\n<p><br>Positions are available in the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
