Responsibilities • Assists patients with activities of daily living.• Answers patients call lights.• Assists with simple procedures as defined in work area under the direction of the RN.• Takes/monitors and records vital signs, weights, and intake and output.• Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens.• Labels all specimens in accordance with standards.• Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment.• Uses technology to promptly and accurately document care provided.• Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.• Demonstrates ability to consistently meet the department work schedule.• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient care.• Reports in a timely manner, pertinent patient observations, significant incidents, or any changes in patient’s condition to the appropriate person.• Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other’s views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, and puts the success of the team above own interest.• Demonstrates effective communication with all members of the healthcare team.• Follows established, individualized plan of care and teaching plans based on identified patient needs, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.• Demonstrates effective communication with all members of the healthcare team. Qualifications Education: • Graduate of high school or equivalent.• Minimum of 75-hour nurse aide course.• Validation Code of “Eligible” status by the Director Care Worker Registry.• Basic computer/typing skills.• Medical Terminology course strongly recommended. Experience: • Previous healthcare experience preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Mandatory Reporter certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
