    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold\">Job Description – Fulfillment of Mission</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">The Roger Bacon Academy is an education management organization that manages multiple award-winning public charter schools in southeastern North Carolina, including Classical Charter Schools of Leland. Classical Charter Schools of Leland is a public charter school serving students grades K-8. We are always seeking outstanding applications for future bus driver positions. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">The following mission outlines the expectations of all employees at the school level as well as employees of The Roger Bacon Academy in providing support to the schools.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Our understandings of humankind and our universe are expressed and communicated through all of our arts and sciences.  Each method of expression – language, painting, music, mathematics, and science – has its <em>rules and techniques for effectively communicating</em> these ideas and understandings. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">These <em>rules and techniques</em> are the bridges over which ideas must be communicated from one generation to the next.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Thus, our Mission is:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> <em>To teach the rules and techniques</em> for effective expression and communication in the arts and sciences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> To communicate, by these arts and sciences, our understandings of the universe and our role in it.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> To instill a love of learning and discovery justifying a lifelong dedication to health, truth, and virtue.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Paramount for <em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> job at </span><em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> level on </span><em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> campus is the fulfillment of this Mission.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt\">School Bus Driver – Job Responsibilities </span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Purpose:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The School Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of students over a specified route, according to a time schedule, for curriculum and extra-curricular activities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Classical Charter Schools of Leland, along with regulations pertaining to the Department of Transportation.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Complies with all traffic ordinance.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Observes all mandatory safety regulation for school buses.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>In tandem with the Bus Monitor, maintains discipline when students are on the us.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Keeps assigned bus clean.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Discharges students only at authorized stops.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Transports only authorized students.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Reports all accidents and completed required reports.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Stays current with state rules and regulations pertaining to driving and transporting students.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Other: </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>School Bus Driver is a non-exempt hourly paid position and is required to clock in and out to ensure accurate record keeping to comply with Department of Labor standards.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Must have a reliable means of communication for quick response to the Office Manager and Headmaster to support effective school operations.  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black\">The Bus Driver will have the following experience and attributes:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>High school degree or equivalent.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Valid North Carolina driver’s license with CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) endorsement.  Also must be covered for personal auto insurance.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ability to follow oral and written directions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ability to read a map</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Interpersonal skills for communication with children, bus monitor, parents or other staff.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Excellent communication skills: active listening, instruction, speaking.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Excellent problem-solving and reasoning skills.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ability to follow oral and written instructions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>",
