Management responsibilities include assuming authority, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the division.  Provides direct supervision of nursing staff and coordinates patient medical care in order to ensure the delivery of timely, appropriate and a high caliber quality of care. Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, organizations and advocacy groups to develop, support and coordinate care, related administrative functions and to represent the interests of the division. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leads subordinate nursing staff in delivering excellent care to clients and offers quality support to medical staff. </li>\n <li>Monitors completion of medical support and nursing staff assignments, identifies lags in daily flow and intervenes as necessary to improve efficiency. Maintains and/or improves levels of productivity set by administration and needs of clients.</li>\n <li>Interviews, hires, fires, disciplines, provides in-service orientation, trains and completes competency evaluations for agency nursing staff.</li>\n <li>Supervises care provided by nursing staff (RNs and LPNs) to ensure conformance with regulations, current competency and best practice standards.</li>\n <li>Provides medication administration training and competency evaluation for agency’s Health Care Coordinators. Instructs and evaluates competency of nursing staff and Health Care Coordinators.</li>\n <li>Creates new policies and updates existing policies to help improve level of care for patients served. </li>\n <li>Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff and monitors staff practices and implementation.</li>\n <li>Provides direct patient care as needed.</li>\n <li>Assists physicians by identifying, reporting and addressing changes in patient’s health status.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of and application of key Clinical Indicators and proactively monitors and implements systems to achieve and surpass agency thresholds.</li>\n <li>Communicates daily with clinical staff to identify client needs so that they can be incorporated into daily work schedule.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Who You Will Be</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Certification.</li>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.</li>\n <li>Minimum Five (5) years supervisory nursing experience, a minimum of which MUST include Three (3) years hospital, substance use or other behavior healthcare organization supervisory nursing experience.</li>\n <li>Possession of strong time management, writing, and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of NY State regulations.</li>\n <li>Willing to travel to various Agency sites.</li>\n <li>Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to program and staff needs. </li>\n <li>Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.</li>\n <li>Ability to work under pressure with excellent organizational skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records.</li>\n <li>Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.</li>\n <li>Team player and ability to work independently. Possession of strong time management, writing and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills; ability to supervise, coach, mentor, develop, train and teach nurses, substance use providers/other clinical discipline providers.</li>\n <li>Ability to implement and monitor policy and procedure in accordance with agency guidelines.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Federal and state law/regulation governing substance abuse treatment, including confidentiality, security and privacy of protected health information.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of OASAS, Joint Commission, CSAT guidance.</li>\n</ul>",
