    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will lead refractory usage and organization of refractory operations for the Steelmaking team, including providing guidance and feedback to refractory operators to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>The Basics:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years of refractory experience in a steelmaking factory required</li>\n <li>Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Intermediate Computer skills to include SAP and Microsoft Office</li>\n <li>In depth knowledge of&nbsp;steelmaking refractory and concrete material</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of steelmaking refractory works and gunning operations</li>\n <li>Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Excellent communications skills working with professionals, operations/maintenance personnel, and construction trades</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>The Extras:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or similar field preferred</li>\n <li>6+ years of refractory experience</li>\n <li>Technical knowledge of Caster, Melt Shop, Ladle Metallurgy Facility (LMF), and/or RH desired</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Holds&nbsp;self and others accountable to meet commitments</li>\n <li>Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward</li>\n <li>Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm</li>\n <li>Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives</li>\n <li>Actively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment</li>\n <li>Monitor and evaluate Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Metallurgy Facility (LMF), Ladle, RH, and Caster refractory performances to include&nbsp;state and&nbsp;degradation time</li>\n <li>Identify appropriate counter measures in case of non-achievement of refractory performance targets</li>\n <li>Manage production equipment process parameters, identify deviations to standard that have influence on refractory performance, and implement corrective measures</li>\n <li>Organize and coordinate refractory repair and reline works for EAF, LMF, Ladle, RH, tundish</li>\n <li>Monitor refractory team and refractory contractor&nbsp;work progression</li>\n <li>Contribute to incident root cause analysis and corrective actions</li>\n <li>Take the ownership to seek and correct issues regarding refractory&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Write &amp; update work instructions for refractory works and organize related HIRAC review (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control)</li>\n <li>Lead or participate in&nbsp;continuous improvement activities</li>\n <li>Perform new material trials (brick and/or concrete)</li>\n <li>Work with EAF, LMF, RH, caster interfaces for the overall benefit of steel making mill</li>\n <li>Communicate and plan with the maintenance team the maintenance needs of refractory maintenance equipment and contractors</li>\n <li>Provide a refractory expertise to technology team for improvement projects implementation</li>\n <li>Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect</li>\n <li>Demonstrate and promote AM/NS Calvert Purpose and Values: Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability</li>\n <li>Monitor inventory levels of refractory and related consumables;&nbsp;Communicate with procurement and refractory vendors to ensure optimal refractory inventories are maintained</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility</li>\n <li>During first ~2 years, Construction setting</li>\n <li>Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL</li>\n <li>Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS TO&nbsp;</strong><i><strong>MAKE YOUR WORLD</strong></i><strong>&nbsp;BETTER</strong></p>\n<p>ArcelorMittal Calvert focuses on hiring the best candidates, so we strive to provide the best benefits and perks to make your world easier.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Health &amp; Wellness -&nbsp;</strong>You can choose between a high deductible health insurance plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a traditional PPO plan with a Flex Spending Account (FSA) option.
