Description

SUMMARY : Under the direction of the Climate Adaptation and Emergency Management Program Manager, the Community Resilience Coordinator is responsible for coordinating regional climate adaptation, emergency preparedness, and community risk reduction initiatives across AVCP Tribal communities. The position supports the development of regional and community-level planning efforts designed to strengthen climate resilience and emergency response capacity. The position works closely with Tribal governments, city governments, regional partners, and technical assistance providers to support culturally appropriate climate adaptation strategies. The Coordinator will conduct outreach to communities throughout the AVCP region, facilitate planning efforts, support training and preparedness exercises, and coordinate regional partnerships that strengthen Tribal emergency management systems. SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. Support Tribal communities in developing and updating Small Community Emergency Response Plans (SCERPs) and other emergency preparedness plans. Conduct community-level climate risk and vulnerability assessments addressing hazards such as wildfire, flooding, permafrost thaw, extreme weather, and erosion. Collect and analyze community risk data and local knowledge to inform resilience planning. Develop community hazard profiles and support adaptation planning efforts. Conduct outreach with communities across the region and assist in the development and updating of their preparedness plans. Travel to communities and facilitate community-level planning events and workshops. Facilitate meetings, listening sessions, and planning discussions with Tribal leaders, Elders, youth, and community members. Support public education and preparedness initiatives related to climate impacts and disaster readiness. Plan, track, and support emergency preparedness training exercises in coordination with ANTHC and other partners. Support Regional Resource Coordination Committee meetings and initiatives by preparing agendas, taking notes, and coordinating follow-up activities. Conduct follow-up with Tribal and City participants to identify next steps and support needs identified during workshops. Participate in local, regional, statewide, and national emergency management and climate adaptation meetings, coalitions, conferences, and trainings. Build collaborative relationships that support regional Tribal climate adaptation efforts. Create project timelines and schedules to ensure program milestones are met. Develop regular status reports and communications for stakeholders and partner organizations. Prepare grant reports in partnership with the grants and compliance department. Assist with budget management by tracking project costs and ensuring financial reporting supports project success. Maintain program documentation, planning records, and outreach materials.
