Entrepreneurial Spirit, Rooted in Tradition . At Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Development America (MTDA), we can tout a storied reputation more than 300 years in the making. Our parent company, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (MTPC), is a research-driven pharmaceutical company with global reach – and one of Japan’s oldest and most respected companies. Relatively new to the U.S. market, the innovative compounds of the Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Group have already enjoyed commercial success under the brand labels of our U.S. partners. In this next phase of development, we plan to bring exciting new compounds to market under our own MT Pharma America label. We’re currently building a new commercial organization and expanding our other functions to support this strategy. The Senior Project Manager, Medical Science & Translational Research is a senior-level project management professional who will help to serve and to lead the US and global project management needs of Medical Science and Translational Research at MTDA. The incumbent will support a team of locally and remotely located translational and medical scientists whose joint task is to partner with laboratory based colleagues, and the early development preparation teams, to advance pre-clinical stage molecules and biologics through translational stages, early commercial assessment, and detailed proposals for initiation of Phase 1, proof-of-concept, and preliminary clinical development plans for effective transition and hand-off to the formal Clinical Development organization. Ultimately, this role will help drive the team to competitive success in the development of first in class drugs, and novel therapies and indications. . Provide expert-level, hands-on project leadership of significant complexity in pre-clinical and translational research in a fast-paced, science-driven environment. Create role model level quality integrated development, risk management plans, and communication plans. Maintain detailed timelines, budgets, and resource utilization across a portfolio of molecules and biologics in different stages of development and with the deployment of multiple skilled scientists in the context of their explorations, work, travel, synthesis, and timeliness of deliverables. Serve as a change agent driving continuous process improvement. Work seamlessly within a matrix structure to help direct, train, and influence team members and colleagues in best practices with regard to: organizational dynamics, communication, corporate culture, quality, timelines, cost, budget, and resources required in order to meet the goals of multiple concurrent local and international development projects. Support the Head of Department in various initiatives designed to enhance Project and Portfolio Management. Interact directly with and support and guide the expanding local and international work of the Vice President, Translational Research and Medical Science, as well as the growing Translational Research & Medical Science organization.
