Description

Overview We’re hiring a Field Product Lead to own how the SPECTR system is configured, deployed, and evolved in real-world environments. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and field delivery—ensuring each customer deployment is tailored to operational needs while feeding critical insights back into the product roadmap. This is not a purely technical or purely product role—it’s both. You’ll make configuration decisions in the field, guide SMEs, and ensure that what we build aligns with how the system is actually used. You thrive in ambiguity, can balance standardization with real-world constraints, and know how to turn field feedback into product evolution, this role is for you. Who We Are We’re not here to maintain the status quo—we’re here to rewrite it and innovate at the pace of need. Our team is laser-focused on delivering next-generation RFID, mesh networking, and IoT-enabled capabilities to the DoD—bringing real-time visibility to real-world operations. We operate at the edge—on ships, in ports, and across logistics hubs—where technology meets mission reality. If you’re ready to translate operational needs into product capability and make systems work where it matters most, keep reading. LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed. Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Responsibilities Field Product Ownership Own all software and hardware configuration decisions for assigned SPECTR delivery engagements. Tailor system configurations to meet mission-specific operational requirements across diverse environments. Ensure configurations are scalable, supportable, and aligned with overall system architecture. Field Leadership & Coordination Serve as the day-to-day work authority for RFID and mesh network SMEs supporting deployments. Coordinate closely with Mission Engineering leadership to ensure alignment between system design and field execution. Guide teams through configuration, testing, and operational validation in real-world conditions. Customer Needs & Capability Intake Capture customer pain points, operational gaps, and unmet needs during deployments and engagements. Submit structured Capability Requests that clearly define desired outcomes—focusing on mission impact rather than prescribing features. Act as the voice of the field, ensuring delivery insights are consistently represented in product discussions. Product Collaboration & Roadmap Influence Partner with Product Managers on a defined cadence to review, refine, and prioritize Capability Requests. Help shape the product roadmap based on real-world usage, constraints, and mission requirements. Bridge the gap between delivery teams and product development—ensuring alignment and clarity. Configuration Management & Standardization Document system configurations for each customer deployment to enable repeatability and continuous improvement. Develop and refine configuration playbooks that reduce custom work and accelerate future deployments. Identify patterns across deployments and drive standardization where possible. Field Execution & Continuous Improvement Support on-site engagements, pilots, and operational testing alongside engineering and field teams. Troubleshoot configuration issues and adapt solutions in dynamic, mission-critical environments. Contribute to the evolution of deployment strategies, tooling, and best practices. Qualifications What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in product delivery, systems engineering, field engineering, or technical program roles. Strong understanding of system configuration across hardware and software domains (RFID, IoT, networking, or similar). Proven ability to translate real-world operational needs into structured product or system requirements. Experience working directly with customers in field or deployment environments. Strong leadership and coordination skills across cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate problems, tradeoffs, and outcomes. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Bonus Points For Experience with RFID, mesh networks, or IoT-based systems in operational environments. Background in DoD logistics, supply chain, or asset tracking systems. Experience in product management, product ownership, or roadmap development. Familiarity with Agile workflows, backlog management, and capability intake processes. Prior experience supporting field deployments in austere or expeditionary environments. Target salary range: $120,000 - 165,000 Disclaimer: The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances. #LI-SH1 Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances, due to the nature of the work.
