Prior experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government language programs. Experience working in austere or deployed settings; willingness to travel as mission dictates.</p><p>&nbsp;<br>Description: Category III (CAT III) Portuguese/Brazilian Linguist provide high‑accuracy translation, interpretation, transcription, analysis, and cultural advisement in support of national security missions.&nbsp;</p><p>Responsibilities&nbsp;</p><p>- Consecutive interpretation and translation between Portuguese (Brazilian) and English during ongoing conversations, briefings, and intelligence collection activities.&nbsp;</p><p>- Real‑time and non‑real‑time transcription and translation with emphasis on accuracy, completeness, and context.&nbsp;</p><p>- Produce idiomatic translations of non‑technical materials using correct syntax and expression; accurately interpret/translate colloquial and slang usage.&nbsp;</p><p>- Provide cultural and ethnic context for translations and interpretations; advise users on cultural/ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documents.&nbsp;</p><p>- Conduct document exploitation (DOMEX): scan, research, and analyze foreign language materials to identify and report intelligence information.&nbsp;</p><p>- Supplement interpretations/translations with profession‑specific terminology (e.g., medical, scientific, engineering, legal) when pertinent.&nbsp;</p><p>- Support mission requirements across oral reports, public addresses (non‑technical), and some oral technical reports; maintain accuracy under time constraints.&nbsp;</p><p>- Maintain strict confidentiality, comply with all security policies, and contribute to team workflows in dynamic operational environments.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">&nbsp;<br>Required Qualifications</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- U.S. citizenship (required). &nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire (if not already held)</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Must be a self-motivated, disciplined, and mature professional capable of operating with little tasking and oversight</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Must be capable of operating within a diverse environment and comfortable operating with limited guidance and oversight, maturity and self-motivation required.</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- ILR Level 3 proficiency in both Portuguese (Brazilian)and English.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect with a broad vocabulary, rarely requiring paraphrasing or explanation.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Reasonably make and answer telephone calls in Portuguese.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">- Understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non‑technical subjects. &nbsp;</p><p>Desired Qualifications&nbsp;</p><p>- Prior experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government language programs.&nbsp;</p><p>- Proficiency with translation tools and linguistic analysis software; experience with secure systems and workflows.&nbsp;</p><p>- Knowledge of domain‑specific terminology (e.g., medicine, scientific, engineering, legal) and the ability to apply it correctly in interpretation/translation.&nbsp;</p><p>- Experience working in austere or deployed settings; willingness to travel as mission dictates.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Benefits:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health Savings Account (HSA)</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul></div></div>\n",
