Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) primary function is the day-to-day direction of branch operations and clinical services to ensure quality care and efficient operations. Coordinates with the parent office, the interdisciplinary team, patient/client, family, and referring agency. Oversees QAPI issues at the branch level and directs staff with regard to Agency policies and procedures. Maximizes human, financial, and equipment resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates branch, and assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered. Identifies problem areas to Administrator and the Supervising Nurse at the parent office. Promotes the philosophy, mission, and administrative policies of the Agency, in an effort to ensure quality of patient/client care. Employs, recruits, manages, and directs qualified personnel to carry out the policies and procedures of the Agency. Ensures staff education and evaluations. Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency. Monitors operational systems for efficiency and compliance with regulations and identifies problem areas to Administrator and the Supervising Nurse. Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the Agency and licensing board. Provides communication to parent office regarding needs of the branch to include personnel needs, financial needs, professional practices, quality issues, and planning. Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes. Promotes and monitors compliance with fiscal intermediary and / or other third-party payers, federal and state regulations, through education, coaching, QAPI program and other assistance, as necessary.
