    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a driven Cost Estimator II to join our Client Programs Market on the Cost Management Team in McLean, VA!</p>\n<p>In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering global and national building programs, supporting clients through every phase of design and construction. Working alongside senior staff, you’ll contribute to comparisons, material and labor investigations, pricing analyses, and other critical project tasks. Each day you’ll prepare estimates from conceptual through design development, perform quantity surveys, and provide value-driven recommendations that help shape successful projects.</p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to large-scale, high-profile programs while sharpening your expertise in commercial construction estimating. If you have a strong understanding of architecture and construction—and a passion for detail, precision, and collaboration—you’ll thrive as part of our team.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs detailed takeoffs of materials and trades for all CSI divisions as required to complete estimates and to support senior staff.</li>\n <li>Prepares labor, material, and equipment pricing research and applies to estimates.</li>\n <li>Provides conceptual, preliminary, schematic, and design development estimates for new construction, remodels, small infrastructure type projects.</li>\n <li>Expected to provide detailed breakdowns for all major CSI divisions.</li>\n <li>Prepare detailed narratives for estimates to convey scope of work to client.</li>\n <li>Review estimates with Senior staff for comments and QA.</li>\n <li>Supports the team in all project related tasks such as comparisons, material and labor investigations, and other pricing needs and requirements.</li>\n <li>Provides impromptu spreadsheets and cost comparisons at the client’s request.</li>\n <li>Updates Cost Management’s historical database.</li>\n <li>Performs bid review.</li>\n <li>Perform change order review.</li>\n <li>Meet with project managers, consultants, and clients as required to acquire necessary information for estimates, bids, and budgets. This would include drawings, specifications, reports, clarification of scope etc.</li>\n <li>Provide value engineering suggestions to team during the estimation process.</li>\n <li>Visits building sites for clients as required.</li>\n <li>Attends client team management and project kickoff meetings as required.</li>\n <li>Attends all Cost Management team meetings or functions as required.</li>\n <li>Produces accurate and consistent work.</li>\n <li>Adheres to assigned schedule.</li>\n <li>Monitors time spent on all projects to ensure profitability and efficiency.</li>\n <li>Updates Cost Management’s historical database.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years construction estimating experience.</li>\n <li>Experience within commercial construction industry preferred.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates an understanding of architecture and construction.</li>\n <li>Exhibits MG2 Practice Values of Integrated Approach, Design Excellence, Social Responsibility, Leadership, and Results.</li>\n <li>Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 per year (depending on qualifications) </p>\n<h2>What We Offer</h2>\n<p>At MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, we value our employees with great benefits and worthwhile programs.
