Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin (CMHA Peel Dufferin) is pleased to partner with various agencies in the Peel Region, to offer services to the local community at the *new* Brampton based Homeless and Addictions Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub. HART Hubs are community-based care hubs designed to address mental health, addiction and housing needs for people experiencing homelessness. They provide integrated care, offering a wide range of services such as primary care, mental health services, addiction care and employment supports. With targeted community outreach and rapid referral pathways, HART Hubs aim to support individuals with complex needs, helping them recover, achieve housing stability, and inclusion. Why join CMHA Peel Dufferin? Support your community. Advance your career. Fulfill your purpose Joining the Canadian Mental Health Association – Peel Dufferin Branch means you’ll be part of something meaningful. For starters, we’re honored to have received the Canadian Non-Profit Employer of Choice Award for our efforts to help people live better. Providing support and services to those who live with mental illness and addictions, we’re committed to increasing awareness and addressing the stigma surrounding mental health. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to create a diverse organization that represents the communities we serve – and the people we help. What We Offer As a community-based agency, we’re dedicated to the mental, physical, and social health of everyone – including our team members. We are currently seeking a part-time Psychiatrist (external independent contractor) to join our Homeless and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub Brampton for a one (1) year contract. As part of the HART Hub Brampton, the Psychiatrist will provide consultation to the multi-disciplinary team, attend weekly clinics, and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary treatment plans. The Psychiatrist will provide three (3) days of service, including two days of clinic, seeing clients directly and billing OHIP, and one day of consultation and team meetings, which will be paid at salary (0.2 FTE).  Clinic days and team meetings will be on site. What You Will Do: Attend client visitation clinics in-person two (2) days per week at the HART Hub Brampton, and one (1) day per week of team meeting and consultation.  Schedule to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.  As this program is a new initiative, the psychiatrist will be required to attend on site, but options for hybrid work can be explored in the future. Develop interdisciplinary treatment plans for clients in collaboration with client, family, and treatment team members; monitor and revise plans as appropriate during the course of the treatment. Provide timely clinical notes for all consultation and follow-up sessions Maintain communication with the HART Hub Brampton multidisciplinary team between site visits on issues requiring attention that is more urgent. Help to coordinate successful transitions to primary care and/or community psychiatrists for ongoing care. Stay current on relevant legislation and best practices, current research, policies, and procedures. Proficient with the use of various software applications and data entry What You Need to Join our Team: A Medical Degree (M.D.) and Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCP) Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is required, along with member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent malpractice coverage Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients. Experience working with culturally diverse and marginalized populations.
