At BNY, our culture allows us to run our company better and enables employees’ growth and success. As a leading global financial services company at the heart of the global financial system, we influence nearly 20% of the world’s investible assets. Every day, our teams harness cutting-edge AI and breakthrough technologies to collaborate with clients, driving transformative solutions that redefine industries and uplift communities worldwide.
Recognized as a top destination for innovators, BNY is where bold ideas meet advanced technology and exceptional talent. Together, we power the future of finance – and this is what #LifeAtBNY is all about. Join us and be part of something extraordinary.
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Delivery Practitioner to join our Wealth Services Platform team. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Portfolio Alignment and Strategic Execution:
Serve as a strategic partner across Product, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations, Scrum, and Client Enablement teams to ensure priorities are managed within a broader portfolio and program framework. Bring an enterprise mindset to align end-to-end capabilities, delivery objectives, interdependencies, and workflow requirements across multiple initiatives and workstreams. Ensure priorities are sequenced and executed as part of an integrated program strategy that strengthens value realization, execution consistency, and alignment to business objectives. Connect delivery efforts to broader portfolio goals by improving coordination across teams, aligning demand to capacity, and reinforcing focus on the highest-value outcomes. Delivery Excellence and Governance Discipline:
Drive structure, predictability, and accountability across delivery by establishing clear plans, maintaining backlog discipline, and using delivery metrics to provide transparent status, risk, dependency, and progress reporting. Strengthen execution rigor through active participation in agile ceremonies, PI Planning, and cross-team synchronization forums to ensure commitments, milestones, and delivery capacity remain aligned. Reinforce strong governance practices through disciplined JIRA management, audit-ready documentation, and consistent evidence of controls to support operational integrity and delivery quality. Improve delivery performance by proactively removing barriers, managing escalations, and ensuring teams remain focused on timely and effective execution. Program Insight and Value Realization:
Connect execution activity to strategic outcomes by maintaining visibility across platform capabilities, workflow dependencies, and evolving business priorities. Identify opportunities to improve prioritization, sequencing, and delivery impact across the portfolio by translating execution insights, process analysis, and stakeholder input into actionable recommendations. Create feedback loops that support roadmap alignment, inform trade-off decisions, and improve overall program effectiveness and business value realization. Help leadership make better decisions by providing a clear view of progress, challenges, and opportunities across interconnected initiatives. Data-Driven Delivery and Continuous Improvement:
Strengthen delivery outcomes through the disciplined use of performance metrics, OKRs, KPIs, and process insights to improve prioritization, surface risks early, and support data-informed decision-making. Ensure execution remains measurable, outcome-focused, and aligned to quality, efficiency, throughput, and business impact goals. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices, driving operational discipline, and supporting knowledge exchange across teams and communities of practice. Contribute to building a more agile, adaptive, and high-performing delivery organization through ongoing process optimization and learning.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
10+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, program management, delivery leadership, product strategy, platform consulting, or related roles within fintech, wealthtech, or financial services. Proven experience leading delivery across complex, cross-functional environments, partnering effectively across Product, Engineering, QE, Operations, Scrum, and business stakeholders. Demonstrated success in cultivating trust-based relationships and retaining clients and increasing satisfaction with a proven track record of managing escalations while maintaining client confidence. Drives accountability and follow through among stakeholders balancing client expectations with internal priorities and constraints. Strong expertise in portfolio and program execution, including prioritization, dependency management, roadmap alignment, governance, and value realization. Practical experience with agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, backlog management, iteration planning, PI Planning, and delivery controls. Strong analytical and data literacy skills, including the ability to define and use OKRs, KPIs, journey maps, and visual insights to guide execution and measure results. Demonstrated ability to improve delivery excellence through structured planning, risk management, transparent reporting, and continuous improvement practices. Experience supporting AI/ML or Agentic AI-enabled initiatives with an understanding of responsible implementation, policy guardrails, and outcome measurement. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across senior leadership, business partners, and technical teams. Strong structured problem-solving skills, including proactive risk identification, escalation management, trade-off decisions, and coordination across interdependent workstreams. A collaborative, resilient, and improvement-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution, accountability, and measurable business value.
