    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><u>PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES</u>:</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have the basic understanding of: The theory, principles and repairs relating to internal combustion engines, electrical circuits, and mechanical mechanisms applying to the repair of power generation equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to learn the mechanical condition of generators, equipment and diagnose component malfunctions. Perform service and repair actions based on trainer and supervisor guidance.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assists other technicians in performing inspections and servicing of equipment. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Responsible for cleaning equipment after completion of service or repairs.</li>\n <li>Ability to learn the use of technical manuals, wiring schematics, test equipment.</li>\n <li>Complete Repair Orders, shop time tickets, swap out reports and all other paperwork as necessary.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Responsible for ensuring the mechanics shop is kept in a clean and orderly condition.</li>\n <li>Responsible for attending all safety meetings and following all safety policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Basic Knowledgeable in the use of hand and power tools and shop equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22.5pt\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p><u>OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES</u>:</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>List any additional functions or duties that may be performed by this position.</p>\n<ol>\n <li>Perform all duties requested by the manager.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Provide quality and timely customer service.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Operate overhead crane &amp; forklift.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Roll wire and pick wire for jobs.</li>\n <li>Wash and clean equipment before and after servicing.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Help load and unload trucks.</li>\n <li>Rotational on call which may require overnight offshore stays.</li>\n <li>Assist with shop maintenance and clean up.&nbsp;</li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><u>JOB ANALYSIS</u>:</p>\n<ol>\n <li><u>Basic computer skills</u> - This is needed for mechanical troubleshooting programs.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><u>Good communication skills</u> – In order to provide good customer service and meet customer deadlines as well as keep operations informed of all equipment status.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><u>Operate Forklift &amp; Overhead Crane</u> – This is required to be able to move equipment to service equipment.</li>\n <li><u>Ability to Work with Minimal Supervision</u> – After hour call requires technicians to perform service work and meet customer needs with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li><u>Need reliable Transportation</u> – On call requires technician to go on road jobs to customer site. This requires the use of personal vehicle and technician will be reimbursed mileage.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><u>Minimum of 0-1 Years Mechanical Experience</u> – Required to know the basic functionality of an engine and how to service to manufacturer specifications.&nbsp;</li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Training required during and after probationary period is met.&nbsp;</p>\n<ol>\n <li><u>Basic safety training</u> - Employee trained by NOV’s 3<sup>rd</sup> party training company within 30 days.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><u>Technician level 1 Training</u> – Will receive an initial two-week training at the Repair Facility with the Portable Power Training Manager.&nbsp; A follow up training session will occur after six months at the employee’s location. New hire will work with the Lead Technician for 2-6 months.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><u>Forklift &amp; Overhead Crane Training</u> - Employee trained by NOV’s 3<sup>rd</sup> party training company within 30 days and will train along with NOV personnel until employee demonstrates they can safely operate machine.</li>\n</ol>",
