    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The <strong>Group Swim Lesson Instructor</strong> provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Ensures an atmosphere of professionalism, discipline, friendliness, and safety within the framework of the Harrison Family YMCA Aquatics programs.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.</li>\n <li>Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.</li>\n <li>Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.</li>\n <li>Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).</li>\n <li>Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. Reports to shift dressed and ready to assume responsibilities 10 minutes early.</li>\n <li>Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.</li>\n <li>Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.</li>\n <li>Arranges for coverage of classes in the event of an absence.</li>\n <li>Keeps track of time during lessons and makes sure lessons begin and end on time.</li>\n <li>Enforces rules in a respectful way</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Promotes enjoyment of swimming.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen.</li>\n <li>Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.</li>\n <li><strong>At least 15 years of age.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Retirement Contribution</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OUR YMCA CULTURE:</strong></p>\n<p>Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture.
