Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation or Clinical Manager- Branch level, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans. Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Audiologists and Speech-language Pathologists of Ontario. Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.
• Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
• Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers/referral source and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
• Observes the performance of those assisting in the speech and language program and provides guidance as necessary.
Other Responsibilities
• Maintain active standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
• Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.

Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner. Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team. Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email. Commitment to continued learning. Valid driver’s license.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The Speech-Language Pathologist must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.
