We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemistry who demonstrate strong commitment to teaching undergraduate laboratory and lecture courses and a strong interest in pedagogy. The successful candidate must hold a PhD by the time of appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank. The appointee will join a cohesive group of tenure track (28) and teaching track (7) faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the first-year undergraduate laboratory courses in our innovative undergraduate curriculum, Chemistry Unbound (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/acs.jchemed.8b00585?rand=7v7wy2cq), and will have the opportunity for course development. The lab courses introduce a large, vibrant student community to experimental practices in lab and the use of evidence to draw conclusions. The appointee will participate in faculty governance of the department and university, undergraduate student mentoring, and, optionally, Emory’s summer study abroad program in Siena, Italy.
