    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Director of AI & Automation is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for identifying, scoping, delivering, and maintaining artificial intelligence and processing automation solutions across the organization. Embedded within the IS&T department and reporting to the VP of IS&T, this individual will serve as the internal expert and primary owner of AI and automation strategy, reducing the organization's reliance on third-party vendors while building durable, scalable capabilities in-house.</p>\n<p>This person will work closely with the executive team to align technology investments with business priorities, and partner with departmental leaders across all cross-functional groups to identify, implement and maintain high-value automation. They will leverage modern AI platforms, including Claude AI (Anthropic), alongside workflow automation, RPA, and integration tooling to bring solutions from concept to production.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Opportunity Assessment & Business Case Development</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Conduct structured discovery with functional teams (front desk, call center, medical assistants, clinical operations, billing, HR) to surface high-friction, high-volume manual processes.</li>\n   <li>Support finance and analytics teams to quantify automation opportunity value — time savings, error reduction, cost avoidance, patient/staff experience improvement.</li>\n   <li>Evaluate build vs. buy vs. configure for each opportunity, with a bias toward in-house development using available platforms. Support from Shore Capital Partners (BrightView’s capital partner) Centers of Excellence AI team.</li>\n   <li>Maintain an ongoing opportunity pipeline to ensure the organization is continuously identifying new areas for improvement.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Prioritization & Roadmap Ownership</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Develop and maintain a rolling automation and AI roadmap, ranked by impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment.</li>\n   <li>Present prioritized roadmaps to the executive sponsor with supporting business cases and resource requirements.</li>\n   <li>Manage tradeoffs between quick wins and longer-horizon investments, balancing speed of value delivery with solution durability.</li>\n   <li>Support finance and analytics teams track and report on ROI and outcome metrics for deployed solutions.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Executive & Stakeholder Engagement</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Serve as a credible, non-technical communicator to the executive team — translating complex AI and automation concepts into clear business implications.</li>\n   <li>Build and maintain trusted relationships with department heads and functional leads; act as a collaborative partner, not a top-down implementer.</li>\n   <li>Proactively surface risks (vendor dependency, data privacy, regulatory compliance under HIPAA) and recommend mitigation strategies.</li>\n   <li>Represent the AI & Automation function in organizational planning discussions and technology governance forums.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Solution Design & Implementation</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Directly design, build, deploy, and support automation and AI solutions — this is a hands-on role, not purely advisory.</li>\n   <li>Leverage available tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude AI (Anthropic), as a core development accelerator for natural language processing, document intelligence, workflow generation, and internal tooling.</li>\n   <li>Utilize integration platforms, RPA tools, and API-based workflows to connect disparate healthcare software systems (EHR, PM, scheduling, billing, communication platforms).</li>\n   <li>Collaborate with IS&T colleagues on infrastructure, security, and data governance requirements for each solution.</li>\n   <li>Build solutions with maintainability in mind — document thoroughly and design for handoff or scale as the team grows</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Vendor & Platform Management</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assess existing vendor-hosted AI solutions and develop transition plans to migrate appropriate capabilities in-house.</li>\n   <li>Evaluate and recommend platforms, tools, and APIs; manage vendor relationships for any retained third-party solutions.</li>\n   <li>Monitor the AI and automation vendor landscape for new capabilities relevant to healthcare services operations.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Experience</strong>:\n  <ul>\n   <li>5–8 years of total professional experience in technology, automation, or data roles.</li>\n   <li>3+ years directly designing and deploying automation or AI solutions in a business context.</li>\n   <li>2+ years in a healthcare, health-adjacent, or highly regulated services environment preferred (not required).</li>\n   <li>Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with non-technical stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions.</li>\n   <li>Passion for rapid technology advancement as applied for commercial and productivity benefits.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Education</strong>:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related technical field strongly preferred.</li>\n   <li>Certifications in AI/ML platforms, RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate), or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) are advantageous</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Preferred Technical Proficiencies:</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Claude AI (Anthropic API), OpenAI, or comparable LLM platforms — prompt engineering, API integration, and agent design. AI & LLM Platforms:</li>\n   <li>Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Zapier, or Make (Integromat). Automation & RPA:</li>\n   <li>Python (primary) for scripting, data manipulation, and API integration; familiarity with JavaScript or similar plus. Programming:</li>\n   <li>REST API design and consumption, webhook-based workflows, OAuth/authentication patterns, HL7/FHIR a plus. Integration & APIs:</li>\n   <li>SQL proficiency for querying operational data; familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Data & Analytics:</li>\n   <li>Microsoft Azure or AWS — comfort with cloud-hosted services, storage, and basic infrastructure. Cloud Platforms:</li>\n   <li>Practical experience with EHR/PM platforms (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, or similar); understanding of scheduling, billing, and patient communication workflows. Healthcare Systems:</li>\n   <li>Microsoft 365 / Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot integration).
