          "text": "<p>You will be required to perform technical tasks in structural engineering, including determining design criteria, preparing engineering calculations and technical design, performing computer analysis, developing drawing layouts and construction details. Secondary tasks include conducting design studies, attending existing facilities for data collection and assessments, attending construction site for field inspection reviews, and drafting reports.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Technical:</p><ul><li>Structural work primarily includes design of buildings, civil structures and industrial structures; these utilize construction materials of structural steel, reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry. Design conditions include conventional loading, seismic and equipment vibration, and hydraulic.</li><li>Calculations performed manually, or employing Excel and Mathcad. Computer modelling includes S-Frame, S-Steel, S-Concrete, Autodesk Structural Robot, and others.</li><li>Drafting performed in AutoCAD, Revit, with Bluebeam markups.</li><li>General software includes Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.</li></ul><p>Managing:</p><ul><li>Manage small and medium sized projects, ensuring they stay within budget and schedule, and meet client requirements.</li><li>Implement relevant codes, standards, practices, and procedures applicable to the project.</li><li>Coordinate with other engineers, designers, drafts, contractors, vendors, and clients.</li><li>Provide design work to support drafters and designers. Check designs and drawings.</li><li>Ensure engineering deliverables are technically accurate, complete, and in compliance.</li></ul>",

          "text": "<p><strong>Technical</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Structural (Civil) Engineering from an accredited university.</li><li>Registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer with ‘Engineers and Geoscientists of BC’.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience in heavy industry sectors, <strong><em>particularly mining</em></strong>, within Canada.</li><li>Alternatively, minimum 7 years of experience in commercial or light industry sectors within Canada.</li><li>Experience and proficiency in engineering to Canadian building codes and standards, including:  NBCC, CSA/S16, CSA/A23, and CSA/S304.</li></ul><p><strong>General:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong professional standards, with proficiency in structural theory and practice.</li><li>Organizational skills, with effective communication and coordination with team.</li><li>Proficient communication in oral English, written presentation, technical sketching</li><li>Multi-tasking with ability to work to schedules and budgets.</li><li>Able to travel to client sites for data collection and construction review.</li></ul><p><strong>Optional:</strong></p><ul><li>Additional experience appreciated in American building codes and standards, including:  IBC, ASCE-7, AISC/360, ACI/318, and ACI/530.</li></ul>",
