          "text": "<p><u><strong>COORDINTES WITH </strong></u></p><p>Natural Resource Justice team; Corporate Accountability and Worker Justice team; Government Relations &amp; Public Policy team; Strategy &amp; Insights Hub; Grants Management Hub; Gender &amp; Climate Justice Hub; Institutional Fundraising &amp; Partnerships; Finance; Oxfam country and regional teams in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Works closely with external stakeholders including coalitions, networks, partners, academics and consultants.</p><p><u><strong>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION </strong></u></p><p>The Policy Advisor supports Oxfam’s Natural Resource Justice (NRJ) global program. They will work with the NRJ Associate Directors to provide program implementation, grants management, policy analysis, research and advocacy support, in line with Oxfam’s natural resource justice agenda. They will work closely with country and regional programs to support in-country policy analysis, research and campaign efforts. They will support internal coordination around restricted grants which include subgrants to multiple countries and regions and contribute to donor communications and reporting. They will support Oxfam’s learning agenda by documenting program impact and lessons learned to inform future advocacy.</p><p>They will identify advocacy opportunities in the U.S. and across priority countries, with the U.S. government, extractive industry companies, financiers and international financial institutions, and multilateral initiatives and international processes to promote human rights and transparency and accountability of the oil, gas and mining sectors. They will provide program logistical support as needed.</p><p><u><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></u></p><p>•Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence U.S. government, companies, investors, international financial institutions and others engaged in the extractive industries.<br>\n•Provide strategy and technical accompaniment to regional and country offices in support of policy and campaign ambitions on extractive industries.<br>\n•Coordinate internally within the Oxfam confederation to support country-led advocacy and link program work with broader influencing work.<br>\n•Undertake policy and political analysis to strengthen Oxfam’s understanding of and ability to influence extractive industries sector.<br>\n•Monitor developments on inequality, human rights violations, and corruption related to extractive industries to identify leverage and influencing opportunities.</p><p>•Support research efforts with the goal of increasing program influence and impact.<br>\n•Analyze and synthesize MEL data to feed into quarterly reviews, annual strategy reviews, annual impact reflections, external evaluations, program review, tracking of outputs/outcomes, and foundation grant reports.<br>\n•Support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement, including drafting donor reports and learning and impact products.<br>\n•Partner in representing Oxfam externally at relevant conferences, events and meetings.<br>\n•Provide program backstopping and logistical support as needed.</p><p><u><strong>POSITION EXPECTATIONS </strong></u></p><p>•Will stay abreast of professional standards, trends and issues affecting this set of responsibilities, demonstrating continuous learning of the field.<br>\n•Will work effectively and collaboratively in support of building a team-based culture of work, will perform all duties appropriately for a multi-cultural environment, treating all persons with dignity and respect, and will be familiar with and committed to Oxfam America mission and goals.<br>\n•Will have an understanding of gender justice and diversity within key areas of responsibility and a commitment to promoting gender justice and diversity in our workplace and programs.<br>\n•Within key areas of responsibility, will have a commitment to providing a safe environment for staff, partners, and beneficiaries, and a commitment to promoting safeguarding in our workplace, programs, and the communities we serve.<br>\n•Expected international travel, up to 20% of the time.</p>",
