Responsible for procuring and returning plans for projects to estimate.</li><li>Prepares project estimates in a timely manner by engaging in detailed and accurate plan take-off, and solicitation of appropriate material, equipment and sub-contractor pricing.</li><li>Updates material pricing and labor rates on regular intervals to reflect recent changes.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining the estimating system, including software.</li><li>Prices change orders on large projects.</li><li>Evaluates bid results to track pricing levels. Upkeeps project bid database for future reference.</li><li>Evaluates completed job costs against estimated budgeted costs to aid in future estimating.</li><li>Manages, trains, and mentors other estimators to ensure high performance.</li><li>Develops “rules of thumb” estimating techniques and criteria for budget estimating.</li><li>Other general tasks at the request of the department head.</li><li>Attendance at departmental meetings and social functions is required.</li></ul>",
