The newest addition to AMB West, Auster will include 20 cabins designed for year-round stays, ranging from one- to three-bedroom layouts. The main lodge anchors the site and will serve as the hub for connection, dining, and relaxation, complemented by a casual restaurant and bar featuring a rooftop deck, a retail market, a pool, a drive-thru coffee stand, and inviting outdoor gathering spaces. Additionally, guests will have access to Rising Sun Golf Course, an 18-hole Johnny Miller-designed championship-level course located at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch. Just a 20-minute drive from Yellowstone National Park, Auster’s riverfront location sits on over 6,000 acres, offering a blend of unspoiled terrain and thoughtfully designed experiences, ensuring visitors can enjoy the outdoors while preserving its natural beauty. Guests will have access to a variety of activities across the property, including guided hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife as well as whitewater rafting and guided fishing trips through local business partnerships. Job Description We are seeking a passionate, driven Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in maintaining menu consistency throughout food operations, and delivering excellent food in a fast-paced, counter-service environment. The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, kitchen operations, food safety compliance, cost control, staff leadership, and ensuring the highest quality standards in every dish served. This is a fast-casual counter service restaurant that brings comfort, quality, and creativity to every plate. We proudly feature locally sourced ranch beef, a range of healthy options, and scratch-made offerings, including house-baked goods and thoughtfully crafted daily specials. From energizing breakfasts to hearty dinners, we serve delicious, nourishing meals every time of day. Our rotating theme nights and seasonal menus keep things exciting for our guests—and our team. Role and Responsibilities Culinary Leadership Execute menus that highlight local ranch beef, healthy options, and house-made items. Create and manage daily specials and weekly theme night menus that align with our brand and customer preferences. Oversee food preparation across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, ensuring consistency and quality. Team Management Hire, train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff; foster a positive and professional kitchen culture. Schedule and manage the kitchen team to maintain efficient operations across all shifts. Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure clear communication across BOH and FOH teams. Kitchen Operations & Food Safety Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in compliance with health department regulations. Implement and enforce food safety and hygiene protocols, including inventory rotation (FIFO), temperature logs, and allergen safety. Menu & Recipe Development Innovate new recipes using seasonal and local ingredients. Standardize recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and cost control. Collaborate on baked goods and pastry items made in-house. Inventory & Cost Control Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships. Monitor food and labor costs to maintain profitability without compromising quality. Collaborate closely with F&B Director. Reduce waste through smart prep and portion control practices. Qualifications 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience in fast-casual, counter-service, or high-volume environments preferred. Strong understanding of healthy cooking techniques, scratch-based kitchens, and working with local ingredients. Proven ability to manage food and labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships. ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification. Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
