    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Seeking Seasonal Summer Day Camp Youth Leaders to join our Corning Corps</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our Seasonal opportunities offer Sick time</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:</p>\n<p>The Kids Café Program was developed to provide a safe drug-free environment, academic help, and life skills training for school age children to become productive citizens in our community. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Represent the Salvation Army in accordance with the Eastern Territory Employee Manual.</li>\n <li>Supervision of children in accordance with OCFS regulations (Section 414)</li>\n <li>Implementation and supervision of those activities assigned by the Kids Café Program Director or Site Assistant.</li>\n <li>Complete and implement age-appropriate lesson plan for activities.</li>\n <li>Help children with homework.</li>\n <li>Monitor meals and teach appropriate table manners.</li>\n <li>Implementation of the Kids’ Café Program Health Plan, including daily health check, basic first aid, and familiarity with the emergency procedures (according to the Kids Café Program Evacuation Plan and Child’s Medical Release form).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Kids Café Program forms and the proper use of such forms (attendance sheets, Incident Report, Behavioral Support Plans, etc.) as well as policies included in the parent information handbook.</li>\n <li>Behavior management for children under your care using deescalation techniques when necessary.</li>\n <li>Responsibilities of a mandated reporter of NYS.</li>\n <li>Submission to the Staff Supervision Policy.</li>\n <li>Maintain cleanliness in areas designated for the children.</li>\n <li>Be available and flexible to help in other areas.</li>\n <li>Be energetic, creative and a self-starter.</li>\n <li>Plan educational, recreational, and special event activities with program director and other program staff.</li>\n <li>Maintain inventory of materials and supplies for activities.</li>\n <li>Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li>\n <li>Plan and facilitate activities that promote learning, growth & fun in a safe environment.</li>\n <li>Communicate well with supervisor and other staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Other Duties:  </strong>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
