Description

Description The Patient Representative will perform general clerical and receptionist duties. This position is responsible for greeting and directing patients/visitors to the practices and services at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center (SURHC). Make telephone calls and appointments, and communicate to patients, visitors, and staff. The Patient Representative may also conduct general interpreting for staff, patients and their families in the SURHC practices. The goal at SURHC is to create and maintain an environment in which all members of the Care Team feel both respected and empowered to actively contribute to patient care and to the continuous improvement of the clinic's processes. Performs various clerical duties in registration and practices. Schedules visits, tests and procedures as directed. Coordinate communication between patients, family members, medical staff, and administrative staff. Maintain knowledge of community services and resources available to patients. Investigate and direct patients inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members. Greets and interprets information for all incoming patients and their families who require interpreting in any practice of SURHC. Through interpreting and relaying of all relevant and necessary patient information to staff to ensure all pertinent details are obtained for all areas of SURHC. Through interpreting and relaying of answers to patient and their families questions, distribute required patient information, and function as a primary resource for interpreting patient questions and concerns. Assess and monitors patients’ and their families understanding of information conveyed. Provides interpreting assistance for scheduling follow up visits.
