This is an outstanding opportunity to practice outpatient medicine and live in a beautiful, family-friendly community close to Yosemite National Park.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Enjoy a balanced work-life with no nights, weekends, or holidays and a four-day work week.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p>The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, focusing on prevention, wellness, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Working under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer or supervising physician, the PA works collaboratively with other providers, behavioral health, dental, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated, holistic care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide patient-centered primary care to individuals of all ages in an outpatient setting.</li>\n<li>Conduct health assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.</li>\n<li>Prescribe medications in accordance with the California scope of practice and clinic protocols.</li>\n<li>Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with tribal programs, community health workers, and public health services to ensure coordinated care.</li>\n<li>Document all encounters and care plans in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely manner.</li>\n<li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and staff meetings.</li>\n<li>Maintain professional competency and stay current with best practices in primary care and culturally competent care delivery.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant license.</li>\n<li>Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).</li>\n<li>DEA registration (or ability to obtain before hire).</li>\n<li>Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).</li>\n<li>A minimum of 1 year of primary care experience is preferred.</li>\n<li>Experience working with Native American communities and/or underserved populations preferred.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent care and build respectful relationships with diverse populations.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to uphold the values and mission of Mathiesen Memorial Health Clinic.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary based on experience.</li>\n<li>No cost for medical, dental, and vision insurance.</li>\n<li>Retirement plan with employer contribution.</li>\n<li>Generous paid time off and paid holidays.</li>\n<li>Continuing education allowance and paid CME time.</li>\n<li>Eligible for federal loan repayment programs (NHSC).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching above and/or below the shoulder.</li>\n<li>Handling/grasping documents, medical, and office equipment.</li>\n<li>Sitting and/or standing for short or extended periods.</li>\n<li>Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in person and/or on the telephone.</li>\n<li>Vision is sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, with or without corrective lenses.</li>\n<li>Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.</li>\n<li>Occasional lifting to 25 pounds.</li>\n<li>The ability to deal well with time constraints and emotional stress is necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Reasonable accommodations will be given to qualified disabled applicants under Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973,29 U.S. Code 791, Title 29, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></p>\n<p>Outpatient clinic setting.  Monday through Friday, no weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to odors and airborne particles, as well as the potential risk of airborne pathogens. Exposure to body fluids and viruses is also a potential hazard of this job.
