Description Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Postpartum Unit. This role will be PRN, hours are as needed. Communicates effectively and collaborates with healthcare team members, respecting other clinical disciplines. Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and population trends. Deliver patient care in a patient and family-centered manner. Advocate for patient rights and provide counsel to resolve issues. Access multidisciplinary resources for patient outcomes and coordinate transition planning. Document all patient care activities according to standards. Evaluate care processes, anticipate patient variances, and revise care plans accordingly. Make clinical decisions based on experience, patient data, and intuition. Foster effective communication and cooperation with clinical teams. Assess and measure patient education needs and outcomes. Provide mentorship, guidance, and direction to staff, including preceptorship and delegation of care activities. Ensure care delivery aligns with standards, guidelines, and collaborative processes. Pursue professional development by obtaining continuing education. Evaluate clinical and quality outcomes and contribute to performance improvement. Registered Nurse (RN) Additional Requirements: Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Qualifications: (BSN) Bachelors of Science in Nursing Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience on an inpatient Postpartum Unit.
