Fathom&rsquo;s extensive certifications include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 Design, ISO 13485:2016, AS9100:2016, NIST 800-171 and ITAR.</p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>The <strong>Quality Engineer Technician 2</strong> will support the measurement and inspection activities at Fathom. They will also support Quality Management Systems activities as needed. This role will interact with a variety of people related to measurement projects and gage calibration.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Determine method of measurement for measurement projects. &nbsp;</li><li>Analyzes part drawing and examines parts to determine reference points for layout. &nbsp;Diagram appropriate methods of measurement.</li><li>Create and maintain computer programs for the CMM for all projects requiring the use of the CMM for measurements and studies.</li><li>Create and document part set-ups on the CMM for measurements and studies.</li><li>Measure all dimensions using the most appropriate method for each dimension and indicate the method on the first piece layout report.</li><li>Indicates out of tolerance dimensions on first piece layout report.</li><li>Answers any customer&rsquo;s or engineer&rsquo;s questions regarding the layout report results or methods of measurement.</li><li>Performs capability studies on specific part dimensions when requested by Engineering, Quality Assurance, or the Customer.</li><li>Maintains files of all layout reports, current drawings and re-measurements of corrected dimensions and revision changes.</li><li>Measures specified dimensions on job start-ups on certain parts when these dimensions can only be checked on the CMM.</li><li>Maintains the daily and archived Lab Schedule.</li><li>Performs gage calibrations and gage R&amp;R studies as requested using the appropriate equipment.</li><li>Cleans and maintains the CMM machine.&nbsp;</li><li>Uses Excel for various forms, reports, and capability studies to present results</li><li>Work independently to accomplish visual and dimensional mechanical inspection processes with minimal supervision.</li><li>Adhere to best safety practices.</li><li>Work with external vendors for outsourcing quality inspection(s).</li><li>Be able to read and interpret engineering level mechanical drawings.</li><li>Be able to establish accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings.</li><li>Be able to independently conduct first article and final inspection processes confirming compliance to specifications in fast paced environment.</li><li>Identify and document non-conformance, initiate CAPAs.</li><li>Notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of products.</li><li>Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, and correctly and carefully inputting data into the quality database.</li><li>Accomplish inspection related tasks as directed by customer requirements, the quality department or upper management.</li><li>Participate in Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving activities.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all manufacturing departments.</li><li>Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.</li><li>Be a participant in team member training, internal audits.</li><li>Perform other Quality Management System duties, as necessary.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications / Requirements:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Associate degree in relevant field or technical certification preferred &nbsp;</li><li>1-3 years related work experience&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of one year of CMM programming and operation (Preferred)</li><li>Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings</li><li>Must have demonstrated proficiency in surface plate layout techniques.</li><li>Understanding of SPC and Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing (GDT).</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a wide variety of measurement equipment.</li><li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.</li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</li><li>Ability to work with databases and spreadsheets.</li><li>Must be able to work independently handling multiple tasks and priorities.</li><li>Ability to work with databases and spreadsheets.</li><li>Must be able to work independently handling multiple tasks and priorities.</li><li>Certification as a Certified Mechanical Inspector from ASQ (Preferred)</li><li>General knowledge of CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks) is a plus</li><li>Must read and write English</li><li>Familiarity with both metric and imperial until system</li></ul><p style='margin:0in;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Aptos\",sans-serif;' id=\"isPasted\"><strong>What we offer:&nbsp;</strong></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Aptos\",sans-serif;'><strong>Health Benefits:</strong> Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
