    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Provides high quality diagnostic radiographic imaging utilizing equipment in the areas of x-ray, mammography(if applicable), bone density, MRI, and CT. Demonstrates ability based on experience to critique images and adjust images according to organizational needs and referring physicians needs. &nbsp;Responsible to understand and perform according to Stamford Hospital's policies and procedures.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>1. Reviews patient schedules before patients arrives.<br>2. Demonstrates a proactive approach in confirming the patients arrival.<br>3. Appropriately choose(s) correct patient based on schedule and priority.<br>4. Review scripts and all pertinent prior studies,images, dates and notes.<br>A. Check authorization when necessary.<br>B. Check and review blood work when necessary.<br>5. Confirm patient identification by checking ID wristband and asking patient to spell last name and provide D.O.B.<br>6.Collect clinical/medical history from patient:<br>A. Confirm the ordered test and laterality/body part<br>B. Ask why &nbsp;they are here for the exam.<br>C. Explain the exam to the patient in simple terms.<br>D. If necessary, call ordering physician for new script (s) or confirmation/explanation of test ordered.<br>E. Amend requisition to reflect new/changed order and cancel incorrect order.<br>F. Apply appropriate screening questions for MRI safety following departments policies and procedures.<br>G. Inquire about pregnancy when applicable.<br>7. Perform exam according to diagnosis, patient history, and protocol.<br>8. Provide as much comfort to the patient as possible during exam.<br>A. Is able to recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies .<br>B. Knowledgeable regarding radiation safety and protection.&nbsp;<br>9. Check all imaging before releasing the patient.<br>10. Input information to Meditech, including taken status, depart, and billing.</p><p>REQUIREMENTS</p><p>5 years experience preferred, but not required.<br>Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology.<br>Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies.<br>Has developed skills to practice in a safe clinical environment.<br>Knowledgeable in safe vs. unsafe metallic implants.<br>Proficient in IV set up.</p><p>Knowledge of routine protocols vs. specialized imaging.<br>Ability to recognize pathology.</p><p>Basic knowledge of microsoft office and the willingness to improve computer skills.<br>Basic knowledge and understanding of teleradiology and sending images electronically</p><p>EDUCATION</p><p>Graduated from an accredited radiologic technologist training program approved by the AMA.<br>Maintain license and &nbsp;registry with the ARRT and current CPR required.<br>Advanced registration required upon hire or within 1 year of hire date.</p>",
