Join the adventure of a lifetime by becoming a teammate with Aerodyne Industries and work on projects that will define our future.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA&#39;s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Provide technical engineering direction for the Civil/Structural Analysis department including design, analysis, implementation, and operational support.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot;Depending on the project type, tasks can vary between conceptual design, revisions to existing designs, and/or modifications to existing structures or Ground Support Equipment (GSE).</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Through structural analysis and fundamental hand calculations, assure that systems/facilities operate in a safe and appropriate manner, and comply with all applicable NASA, federal, and industry codes/standards.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Prepare all essential design/analysis documentation required for a complete and viable engineering package - particularly authoring of a comprehensive Design Analysis Report (DAR).</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Review and provide comments to engineering models, methodologies, and deliverables from colleagues within, and occasionally outside, the Civil/Structural Analysis department.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Successfully interface with the NASA customer and other client representatives by supporting or presenting at a variety of Engineering Review Boards.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Manage completion of tasks on-schedule and within budget to the customer&#39;s satisfaction.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Support construction activities to validate compliance with engineering drawings and contract documents.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies using available data and/or testing results, as required.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Guide technicians through repairs and system operations referencing specific functional, maintenance, repair, and test procedures, as required.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform other duties as assigned.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">BS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university plus ten (10) or more years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional education and certifications may be substituted for a portion of the experience. This is a senior level position with a required ten (10) or more years of relevant design/analysis experience within the fields of Civil and Structural Engineering.</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of applicable AISC, ASCE, ACI, AWS, ASME, SAE, and other relevant industry standards is required.&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency with STAAD Pro, GT STRUDL, and/or SAP2000 structural analysis software is required.</li><li>Understanding and experience with finite element analysis programs such as Siemens NX Nastran and/or MSC Nastran is desired.</li><li>Ability to perform complex hand calculations is required.</li><li>With limited guidance, must be capable of utilizing engineering concepts and advanced analysis techniques in order to gather data and write technical dispositions to bring systems/structures to their desired working fidelity.</li><li>Excellent technical writing, communication, presentation, and customer interface skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.</li><li>Must be well organized, flexible, and capable of effectively prioritizing several multidisciplinary tasks.</li><li>Inherently self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and able to work independently (or with minimal supervision).</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements&nbsp;</strong>&middot; This position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
